Why Hire Frontier?
The primary duty of a security officer is to serve as a visible deterrent to criminal activities that could result in destruction or loss of property, injury, or loss of life. Our goal is to provide you with the most professional appearing, responsible, honest, trained and carefully selected person for the position. The second function of security is to observe and report, any and all things you need to know including what security did during their shift.

Armed, Taser, or Unarmed
Most situations can be handled by a uniformed unarmed security guard with good communication skills. This is less expensive in hourly cost, your liability insurance cost, plus no risk of deadly force being used. Armed guards are more expensive due to the rigorous ongoing training and licensing requirements. Taser certified and equipped guards can give you the midpoint in cost, effectiveness, and non lethal, when needed. We also have guards with oleoresin capsicum (pepper spray) and asp baton certified training.
Contract information
Frontier will meet with you and make a free on-site discussion and evaluation of your needs. We will want to know the hours and days you desire coverage, the emergency after hours contacts for your company, a site and/or building layout map is helpful, locations of emergency equipment, and the problems you've experienced which will help designate the duties required.
Costs
Factors considered in your cost are the guard's time, training, uniforms, dispatch and clerical, radios, marked vehicles, supervision and management. Frontier can tailor a program for you, from a minimum to a maximum number of hours and days worked, the guards and equipment required to properly handle your needs. From a one day emergency to a 24 hour 7 day a week long term contract, we service them with equal care and concern. Security is a pro active form of preventative maintenance for your property and may even reduce your insurance costs.
Dispatch
Frontier has a 24 hour 365 day in house dispatch center. Not an answering machine or service, not voice mail or a maze of "if this select that" buttons. But, a real person, knowledgeable about schedules and guards assigned, having complete post orders with mapping and emergency contacts, and our company policies. It is the hub of all company activity. All inbound calls are logged and resolutions noted. Guards and clients may call anytime. Dispatch will call your designated party when our patrol finds a door open on your site, if we can't lock it for you. Dispatch calls the fire or police when needed. They have a computer link to check license plate numbers of abandoned vehicles to see if they are stolen and report it to TPD. They find another guard to work if yours becomes ill or has an emergency. They can and do call management 24 hours a day for serious problems. They perform the hourly radio welfare checks on all assigned guards, throughout the night, so we know everything and everyone is okay each hour. Changes you wish to make to post orders should go through dispatch to insure all guards are taught the same procedures.
Equipment
All guards will be in the same standard issue clean and pressed uniform with Frontier security insignia, unless working a plain clothes assignment. They will have radio communication with our in house dispatch center. Flashlights will be used after dark for safety. Mobile units are late model cars or trucks, fully security marked with police style light bars. GPS is installed in each vehicle to verify site visits. If required, site cell phone will be placed to facilitate communication between your people and ours.
Guard duties
Upon arrival at his/her post, a guard will report to dispatch his on duty status and make his presence known to the client. He will then perform a foot patrol of the perimeter making sure all gates, doors, windows, parking areas, equipment and assets are secure while looking for transients, hazards, or lights out. He will then list any pre-existing conditions found on his DAR. He will check vehicles in the parking lot making mental note of how many, their condition, and location. He will check interior doors to make certain they also are locked. Regular rounds will then be done a minimum of once per hour depending on the site. Sometime during the hour he will list his activities and observations for that period. At any time, he may contact dispatch for questions or backup assistance. At the end of his shift, his DAR will either be left on site or brought to the office to be faxed to you. He may never leave site until shift end and a relief guard is there, if another shift is required.
License and insurance
Frontier was the first southern Arizona security guard company to receive a 100% rating for compliance to the state DPS regulations when audited. Our license is in excellent standing and we carry more than the minimum liability, workman's compensation, auto, and umbrella insurance. Insurance certificates will be issued for your files.
Management experience
The current local ownership has been in place since 1993, with the director of operations starting at Frontier in 1998, and the field commander since 2004. All have come with management and/or ownership skills from other industries requiring responsibility for a large number of people and assets.
Post Orders
Frontier will create a post order book listing your needs and duties requested. There will be an aerial photo and a map showing the location. The book will have multiple photos of your site explaining in detail where and what is to be done by our guards. Frontier will take pictures on your site to describe duties assigned, such as which doors are to be locked, lights to be on or off, locations of gauges or equipment to check, access or potential problem areas, and any other pertinent information. Then written duty details will be added to the photos. Emergency contact names are listed with their phone numbers. This book is used for training and reference. One set is placed on site and one remains in our dispatch center for quick answers to any question or situation.
References
The best indicator of a company's job performance is how they have handled their previous and current clients. Our clients will vouch for our attention to detail. We answer all phone calls with trained professionals 24 hours daily. A supervisor will visit your site nightly to observe your guard's job performance. Security is a service and we give the best possible. Management will respond to concerns, new areas of need, or change of guard requests immediately. Client references are gladly given. Referrals have been our primary source of new clients.
Reports
Daily activity reports (DAR's) are written every shift detailing on an hourly basis what has occurred on your site. Lights out and hazards observed will be included. An incident report (IR) is prepared for any unusual activity or incidents requiring police or fire departments during the shift. This will give you the information you may need for insurance or your files. Per your instructions, reports will be left on site, faxed to a specific person, emailed, or reported by phone.
Reputation
We want to be your long term business partner, supplying both confidence in your site's safety and value for your costs. Frontier has been in business since 1978 and is locally owned by two businessmen who are very involved in Tucson civic activities. Frontier is a member in good standing of APSPA (Arizona Private Security Professionals Association). We were the first southern Arizona security company to receive 100% compliance rating from Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) for complete adherence to all rules and regulations. Many apply for work here, but few are hired.
SAM Units (Mobile Supervisors)
Mobile supervisors are on duty every shift. Their job is to inspect the guard at your site, verify training or do training as needed, check on the guard's welfare, answer questions, deliver/pick up paperwork or forms, deliver replacement radio batteries, provide backup for dangerous situations, or stay on site if a guard needs relieved.
Staff training
Arizona mandates a minimum of eight hours of security training covering legal and practical aspects of security. This is required before they are licensed by the state with another eight hours required every two years. We require all our new hires to attend our training, even if already licensed. Also required is an NCIC (National Crime Information Center) background check prior to being hired, allowed in uniform, or on site. Frontier also does random drug testing and on site training for all guards.
